Doing songs for an entire month already sounds like a challenge most people would get tired from, so good on you for deciding to stop instead of going through something that you didn't find fun anymore. Sorry about the whole mean-spirited comments you posted while doing the challenges, but at least you learned from the experience and are trying to change the way how you handle them moving forward. I'd like to think that within time, you and Yendor would have a proper resolve, but it take some extreme luck to get that to happen.

I hope you have a nice break from all of this, because it sounds like a lot has happened during the start of this year. Have a good one and stay safe.

I'm not angry anymore with you. Please relax.

JAMUARY in my mind is creative freedom within a time limit-- with that in mind I don't put too much effort into the work for something like that, because often I may work days at something to get it in line with who I think is my audience. I get that not everyone likes what I do but its rare when I get an negative review.

What got me angry is that it appears to me that someone who has an interest in classic music and oldies like the beatles-- is trying to write reviews for people in the modern techno space where we work to be efficient and minimal at worse-- and then says things such as "no interesting appagios" or (ad lib)"I don't know how to review this (techno)"

Worst of all, its on a jamuary event track where there is really not a expectation that we do well-- we just need to show our work. its... like musicians just sitting/standing/busking in the street. We are not putting on a concert here, its just a jam.

Here are the reviews you wrote

This is a fair one. I trying to finish off a bottle of wine gifted to me for NYE and simply left a loop of chords repeating while singing. Like most of my jamuary songs, i don't put any effort into it. I'm just meeting the basics of the challenge and having fun with it. I didn't think too much of this as there really is nothing to improve here.

This is another fair one. I actually did dig deep in my head and composed a fun bouncy melody and added two leads, angelic voices pad, sub bass, and bass on thirds with crashes and other effects. This is my standard in UK Hardcore / modern Happy Hardcore as I have heard it in 2010 - 2016. The difference is that I am drawing on inspiration from an artists more recent such as Tecknikore and Stonebank (I have their presets for the Serum synth) and my own music teacher who taught me how to write another form of Happy Hardcore called "Makina" and supplied me with lots of drum kit samples and other things you'd fine in this nice space.

Not your cup of tea, I get it. I appreciate that I mixed it well. A little of the loudside but "if you are not redlining, you arn't headlining." (This is a common joke I heard from promoters in Philadelphia. :P

I think you are being too generous here-- This was very dressed down with me thinking someone else may come along and use it I never Wrote RnB before and the chords were copied from listening to someone else while I did all the other instruments. :/

This was a simple piano piece with melody and chord. I'm a bit confused why you even bothered to leave a review, again, its a workday/night for me and I'm squeezing out a little creative juice... its... just what it is... a sonnet. This is where I starting to kinda wonder what was your deal, but I was still like whatever.

Ok, this is where I starting getting irritated and after reading the bit about the arp, I started asking "Who... are... you?" and poked through your profile to discover you are a beatles fan and write some pretty normal band-ish stuff. You probably have not sat and listened to early tecdhno or Happy Hardcore so I am thinking "wow, this guy REALLY doesn't know anything (about music in this space/era)". You also give me no pointers other then "Uninteresting" and "oH i JUST read THE description", As to why it sounded the way it did (There wasn't a lot to happy hardcore from 92 - 96), this was "underground" for the time) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCXMO8s76us

Paul Sirril was pretty very present in old house music in the UK for a long time, and still writes UK garage and bassline house-like music to this day- You may have come acrossed him if you listened to techno / house more regularly-- https://www.discogs.com/artist/350505-Paul-Sirrell

I used it (his sample pack) and wrote a arp, added string bass, used the softlead, added a break, --and unfortunately as most working adults are, I ran out of steam and didn't care to added effects/ crashes etc, I'm just looking to complete today's challenge and go to bed-- because sleep is more important then the jam. Sorry it wasn't Mozart. But it was super insulting read as someone who appreciates the old school techno. >:(

I wrote this just to try something slower and add a vocal-- yes you are right, vocals don't match but this is a jamuary track. There was no expectation of me to write something SUPER GOOD FRONT PAGE WORTHY. This is what broke me though:

"It's just- There's too little work put into each of these songs"

This made me angry, you are categorizing all my work thus far from when I started uploading to NewGrounds into review of ONE TRACK? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Yeah so... be more mindful when you review things as part of a an event, (especially jamuary) if I was just starting in music, I would have given up on music based on what you wrote.

thanks for the crack down of each comment, I'll admit I don't seat too much in the genres you do, but I'd also like to add some things. I also do listen to electronic music, and beatles just being of my favourite groups. I also listen to a lot of modern metal (post 90s), like Rammstein or MSI (if you want to count it as metal), and I don't think it counts as electrical but I also listen to artists like Graham Kartna or Tally Hall. I think I wrote a review on everything because of me wanting to be supportive and all, but now I can see it gave the opposite effect. I can be pretty harsh on even songs That are considered to be very good in the areas I'm in, and too kind on songs most consider to be good (like in RIngo's solo career, I don't think Photograph is a masterpiece, I believe it's still great but nothing amazing, or like Hopeless from old wave which is considered to be awful all around [Old wave is overall awful, hopeless is the only song I like from the thing]). I'll for sure remember to not always keep a comment under everything, because I both creeped out others and I burned myself out after a week or so. I really hate the way I wrote the last three of the reviews, but I do also believe it's time to move on. I'll take this as a learning experience, although it's still a bad thing that I had to put anyone through this to learn. I also put myself through a lot of stress to keep every single song top notch, which after almost 2 weeks made me quit the whole thing because of how stressful the whole thing was, waking up, going to school, and I had to compose during the 5 minute breaks because I was so stressed of uploading something unfished, and I basically expected everyone else to do the same, which now that I look at it I wouldn't want to put on at all. I hope it doesn't sound like the typical apology on internet that don't accept the blame on the person, overdo it, or at the end of the day distract too much. Also, just to clear up SOME THINGS (not to defend myself or anything on what I said), I am terrible at words, and by each, I meant the previous 2, and it being one of the few from many things I said not properly. I don't know what to add, it's beginning to be all over the place so better to leave it here than to never.
